Musings On Banana Republic

Is it not a bit strange that, given today's fanatical political correctness, Banana Republic the clothing store has somehow escaped the ire of the Banana Republic community here in the US? Not that this is something I look forward to - I mean, "Banana Producing and Exporting Nation Textile Retailer" just wouldn't be as catchy.
