Three Cheers For Michelle Malkin

I used to have a very unfavorable opinion of Michelle Malkin - until I actually read what she had to say and stopped letting the Messed Up Media form my opinions for me. In fact, the glaring discrepancy between the media's portrayal of her and the reality that is Ms. Malkin sowed the seed of suspicion in my head that there might be a few other things that the Messed Up Media are being less than candid about. (I had no idea...)

I had the opportunity to listen to Ms. Malkin speak last summer, and it quickly became obvious to me why the left hates her so much. She is far smarter than anyone they have yapping for them, and they know the only way they can exist in a world with the likes of her, is to discredit her to the extent that people will not bother reading her column. Once you read her column or hear her speak, it is immediately apparent that she is no intellectual lightweight. That does not mean you have to agree with everything she says, although so far I do, but if there were something she said which I disagreed with, I certainly still would want to hear her argument.

I can not believe some of the horrid things that I have heard so-called professionals say about her. But then again, my grandfather used to always say that leftists are liars - that lying is their first and foremost weapon in the battle for power. The left also likes to accuse their opponents of those crimes which they themselves commit.

The shooting of the Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and the other victims was and is a tragedy. The shooter, Jared Loughner appears to be mentally ill. I say this after viewing some of the youtube posts by young Mr. Loughner. I say young, because the content of Jared Loughner's presentations are sadly childish. If I had to hazard a guess as to motive, I would say that this kid was angry about events at school. Perhaps getting kicked out of his algebra class for being disruptive. That is not to imply that he shouldn't have been kicked out of class, or that any teacher, professor or authority figure bears the least bit of responsibility for this tragedy due to their efforts to restore order. As far as I know, they did what one hopes they would do under the circumstances.

That is all I really have to say about this, other than it makes me very sad to think about the lives lost, and the surviving family members who will never quite be the same because of their loss. My heart goes out to them. I also hope that Gabrielle Giffords not only pulls through, but makes a full recovery and returns to her elected position. She is first a person, then a politician. Plus, whether or not I agree with her on this or that is irrelevant - the people in her district voted chose her to represent them. That is democracy.

I would not have it any other way, nor would I want to have any candidate I favor "win" by any other means than convincing enough voters to scribble their mark next to said candidates name on election day.

An Example of Jared Loughner Youtube postings..

I am "totally grossed out" by those people who are bringing up Sarah Palin's political rhetoric and implying some sort of guilt on her part. It says more about the character and judgement of the people making those statements, and I wonder what sort of editor hires these people. I expect that from the National Enquirer or The Star, but I was surprised to learn that they now set the journalistic standard in our great nation.

If, by chance one of those editors ever happens to read this posting of mine, may I offer my congratulations to you for playing a key role in the destruction of one of the pillars of our democracy. That is how you will be remembered, make no mistake. The self-aggrandizing buffoons of the 00s and the 2010s destroyed the free press. Hindsight is 20/20, remember?

Anyway, just in case you need some ammo to use in debate, and yes I did say ammo - as in ammunition - I am using this word in what is called a "figurative" sense. I am not, in fact, trying to give you or sell you actual bullets - (there was a time when people learned this kind of stuff in school, but one can't assume anything these days.) Michelle Malkin put together a nice illustration of Progressive tactics - accusing opponents of your own crimes.

PS: You do realize that Progressives are Marxists, right? There are plenty of aspiring proletarians over at the democratic underground actually sitting around waiting for the "revolution". Seriously!

Congrats on waking up to the playbook of the left and the keen insight of people like Michelle Malkin. However, you may want to make a correction...Gabrielle Giffords is not a Senator, she's a Congressman (er, Congresswoman).

Thank you, I corrected my mistake.
